Job Summary
We are excited to bring on a creative and user-centered UI/UX Designer Intern to our product design team. This role is suited for a designer with at least 1 year of experience in UI/UX projects, looking to apply their skills in an edtech social platform. As a UI/UX Designer Intern, you will contribute to designing intuitive interfaces and seamless experiences that enhance user engagement in learning communities. You'll collaborate with product managers, developers, and marketers to iterate on features like personalized feeds, interactive forums, and mobile app layouts. This internship offers real-world design challenges, feedback from experienced designers, and portfolio-building opportunities in a collaborative, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities
- User Research & Analysis: Conduct user interviews, surveys, and usability testing sessions with students, educators, and professionals to gather insights on pain points in social learning experiences. Analyze feedback to inform design decisions and create user personas for educational scenarios.

- Wireframing & Prototyping: Develop low- and high-fidelity wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using tools like Figma or Adobe XD for features such as profile customization, content discovery pages, and virtual event interfaces.

- UI Design Implementation: Create visually appealing and accessible UI elements, including icons, buttons, and layouts that align with Intellyjent's brand guidelines. Ensure designs are responsive for web and mobile platforms, prioritizing educational accessibility (e.g., color contrasts for readability).

- Collaboration & Iteration: Work with cross-functional teams to incorporate feedback into designs, participate in design critiques, and iterate based on A/B testing results. Support the handoff of designs to developers using tools like Zeplin or Figma's dev mode.

- Design System Maintenance: Contribute to building and updating a shared design system library, ensuring consistency across the platform's social feeds, chat features, and learning modules.

- Trend Research & Innovation: Stay abreast of UI/UX trends in edtech (e.g., gamification in social apps) and propose innovative ideas for enhancing user retention, such as intuitive navigation for collaborative study groups.

- Documentation & Reporting: Document design processes, rationale, and assets in shared repositories. Present design concepts and prototypes in team meetings to align on user experience goals.

Required Qualifications
- Experience: At least 1 year of practical experience in UI/UX design, obtained through internships, freelance gigs, academic projects, or personal portfolios (e.g., redesigning educational apps or social interfaces).

- Education: Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Media, or a related field.

- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch for prototyping and collaboration.
- Strong understanding of UI principles (e.g., typography, color theory, layout grids) and UX fundamentals (e.g., user flows, information architecture).

- Soft Skills: Creative problem-solver with empathy for users. Excellent visual communication skills and ability to articulate design choices. Comfortable in a remote, iterative team setting.

- Other: Passion for education and social platforms; portfolio showcasing 2-3 relevant UI/UX projects is essential.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with user testing tools (e.g., UserTesting, Lookback) or animation software (e.g., After Effects for micro-interactions).
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Trello for task management.
- Knowledge of motion design or inclusive design practices for diverse learner audiences.
